Tagbilaran marks diamond jubilee with website and service drive
The City Government of Tagbilaran launched its official Tagbilaran City Tourism Website on September 22, 2026, at the City Hall Atrium.
The launch was followed by the launching of the 60 Acts of Service on September 25, 2026.
Both activities form part of the city’s yearlong celebration of its 60th Charter Anniversary Diamond Jubilee.
The tourism website serves as a digital gateway to Tagbilaran.
It features the city’s tourism destinations, culture, heritage, attractions, and experiences.
It aims to make information about the city more accessible to residents, tourists, and potential visitors.
It also seeks to strengthen Tagbilaran’s presence in the digital tourism landscape.
The website was developed through the dedication and technical work of three Bachelor of Science in Information Technology students from Bohol Island State University.
The students completed their on-the-job training at the City Tourism Office.
Its development and quality were supervised by Mr. Frence Boiser, Strategic Communications Head.
Tagbilaran Mayor Jane Yap personally graced the launching.
She was joined by City Councilor Merick Blanco, City Administrator Alvin Luiz Acuzar, City Tourism Officer Joseph Alexis Cadeliña, members of the City Tourism Technical Working Group, and the City Information Technology Office.
The 60 Acts of Service, meanwhile, encourages individuals, organizations, and community groups to contribute meaningful acts of service as part of the Diamond Jubilee celebration.
Anchored on the theme “One Family, One City,” the initiative seeks to turn the city’s 60th anniversary into an opportunity for giving back.
This will be done through volunteerism, sharing of skills and resources, acts of kindness, and other forms of community service.
Mayor Yap described the initiative as an opportunity for every Tagbilaranon to give back to the city.
She emphasized that even small acts of service can create a meaningful difference in the community.
Interested individuals and groups may register to participate through the online registration link to be posted on the Tagbilaran City Government Facebook page.
The two initiatives form part of the city’s broader 60th Charter Anniversary celebration.
They highlight Tagbilaran’s tourism identity while encouraging its people to take an active role in giving back to the community.

Tagbilaran City promotes family health in Summit 2026
The Tagbilaran City Primary Care Facility (TCPCF) successfully held the Family Health Day Summit 2026 on September 22, 2026, at JJ’s Seafood Village in Tagbilaran City.
A total of 85 families from the 17 Barangay Health Stations (BHS) of Tagbilaran City participated in the activity.
Each participating family was represented by a father, mother, and child.
All participating families also received hygiene kits as part of the health promotion initiative.
The Family Health Day Summit is a family-centered activity that brings together families and health workers to promote preventive care, healthy behaviors, and access to essential family health services.
The summit featured health education sessions on key areas of the Maternal and Child Health Program.
The topics included family planning, safe motherhood, newborn and child health, immunization, oral health, adolescent health, and women and child protection.
The lectures were facilitated by the respective program coordinators of the TCPCF, led by City Health Officer Dr. Jeia Pondoc.
City Mayor Jane Yap personally graced the event.
She expressed her appreciation to all the families who participated and recognized their commitment to maintaining the health and well-being of their families.
In her message, Mayor Yap also highlighted the 100% completion of the Super Mega Health Center.
She said the facility is envisioned as a one-stop health center where families can conveniently access essential services for wellness, health, and nutrition.
The Family Health Day Summit 2026 reflects Tagbilaran City’s continuing commitment to bringing quality, accessible, and family-centered health services closer to its constituents.
It also aims to empower every family to become an active partner in achieving a healthier city.
