Financial empowerment meets humanitarian action as “Developing the Millionaire Mindset” shows how businesses, government institutions and communities can partner with the Philippine Red Cross – Bohol Chapter to help save lives.

An afternoon of financial learning became an opportunity to support humanitarian service as the Bohol Alliance of Travel and Tour Operators (BATTO) staged “Developing the Millionaire Mindset” with renowned motivational speaker and “Pambansang Wealth Coach” Chinkee Tan on September 26, 2026, at the Bohol Cultural Center in Tagbilaran City.
Presented by BATTO for the benefit of the Philippine Red Cross, the event brought together financial education, entrepreneurship, personal development and social responsibility while helping advance the humanitarian mission of the Philippine Red Cross – Bohol Chapter.
With the support of the Provincial Government of Bohol and other event partners, the activity gathered participants from various sectors for an afternoon focused not only on improving their financial lives, but also on understanding how personal and professional success can create value for others.
Developing a Mindset for Growth
During the session, Tan challenged participants to look beyond the conventional idea of wealth and examine the mindset, habits and decisions that influence their financial future.
Participants were guided through exercises encouraging them to identify their strengths, interests and purpose by asking what they are naturally good at, what they enjoy doing, what people often seek their help for, and what they would choose to pursue if money were no longer their primary concern.
The discussion also encouraged participants to assess important areas of their lives, including purpose, relationships, health, career or business, finances, personal growth and contribution.
Tan introduced participants to a “money programming audit,” encouraging them to examine beliefs about money that may either help them move forward or hold them back. Among the mindset shifts discussed were moving from scarcity to abundance, from being primarily a consumer to becoming a creator, from instant gratification to delayed gratification, and from thinking small to thinking bigger.
One recurring idea throughout the session was the importance of creating value — encouraging participants to consider what they can create, improve, solve, sell or invest in rather than focusing solely on how much they can earn.
Financial Learning With a Humanitarian Purpose
Beyond the lessons on financial growth, the event carried a greater purpose. BATTO’s decision to conduct the activity for the benefit of the Philippine Red Cross demonstrated how organizations and businesses can use their platforms not only to serve their members and clients, but also to contribute to humanitarian work in their communities.
Support generated through partnerships and fundraising initiatives helps the Philippine Red Cross – Bohol Chapter sustain and strengthen its programs in disaster preparedness and response, blood services, emergency medical services, health and welfare, safety services, youth and volunteer development, and other humanitarian activities across the province.
For the Red Cross, such partnerships are particularly important because humanitarian work requires sustained resources, trained volunteers, equipment, logistics and community support even before an emergency occurs.
“Financial success becomes even more meaningful when we are able to use our resources, skills, time and influence to make a difference in another person’s life,” said Emmanuel C. Pilayre, Chapter Administrator of the Philippine Red Cross – Bohol Chapter.
“We sincerely thank the Bohol Alliance of Travel and Tour Operators, Chinkee Tan, the Provincial Government of Bohol, our partners, sponsors and everyone who supported this initiative. By investing in their own learning, our participants also became partners in our humanitarian mission,” Pilayre added.
Private Sector and Government Can Partner With the Red Cross
The success of the benefit event also serves as an invitation for more institutions to become humanitarian partners of the Philippine Red Cross. Businesses, corporations, professional and civic organizations, educational institutions, individuals, national government agencies and local government units may explore partnerships with the Philippine Red Cross in support of humanitarian programs, subject to applicable laws and government budgeting, accounting and auditing requirements.
