The members of the Tagbilaran City Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) broke ground on Feb. 18, 2022, for the new legislative building. To recall the construction of this building is delayed due to the pandemic, according to reports released on Feb. 22, 2022.
SP members led by Vice Mayor Jose Antonio Veloso held the groundbreaking ceremonies inside the City Hall compound prior to the regular session of the said august body.
Reports say that the new legislative building will host the various offices of the SP and the city library.
The initial budget for the legislative building is pegged at P20 million.
According to reports, the SP legislative building was supposed to be constructed in 2020, but the budget was realigned to support the city’s response against the Coronavirus disease (Covid) pandemic.
Presently, the SP members hold their sessions inside the City Hall. The offices of SP members are also hosted inside the City Hall.
