Bohol First District Rep. Edgar M. Chatto has
expressed his readiness and resolve to take on the
law-making tasks of the second session of
Congress (2023-2024).
In a post-State of the Nation Address (SONA)
statement on his official social media page, Chatto
said that he is happy that President Bongbong
Marcos enumerated priority legislation in his
SONA, such as tax reform under the Medium-
Term Fiscal Framework, amendments to various
laws, and the Blue Economy law.
Chatto also said that he is thankful that the
President reiterated his commitment to making
climate change an important criterion in national
policies, in planning, decision-making, up to the
implementation of programs and its compatibility
with the economic agenda.
Chatto’s statement comes after a successful first
session of Congress, where he was able to pass
several notable legislative achievements, such as
the CREATE Law on tax reforms as well as the
Agrarian Emancipation Law for the benefit of the
farmers.

Chatto said he is confident that he can continue to
work with his colleagues in Congress to pass more
important legislation in the second session.
He said he is also committed to working with the
administration to address the major challenges
facing the country, such as inflation, employment,
economy, and healthcare.
Chatto’s statement was met with positive reactions
from his constituents and other stakeholders in
Bohol. They expressed their confidence in Chatto’s
ability to lead the way in law-making and in
addressing the challenges facing the country.
