Mayor Jane Yap administers oath to newly elected Liga ng mga Barangay Officers in Tagbilaran City

In a ceremony that marked the beginning of a new chapter for local governance, Mayor Jane Yap officiated the oath-taking of the newly elected Liga ng mga Barangay Officers of Tagbilaran City on December 15, 2023.

The event gathered elected officials who will play pivotal roles in representing the interests and welfare of their respective barangays.

The recently sworn-in Liga ng mga Barangay Officers include Hon. Sergio Bangalao of Cabawan as the President, Alberto Puagang of Dao as the Vice President, Joseph Sagaral of San Isidro as the Secretary, Jose Floro Ringca of Bool as the Treasurer, and June Ramon Duroy of Poblacion 2 as the Auditor.

The Board of Directors is composed of Nilo Lumantas of Manga, Felixberto Remolador of Poblacion 3, Mary Jane Ruiz of Ubujan, Arvin Visarra of Mansasa, Francis Eugene Zamora of Taloto, and Marlou Añana of Dampas.

Together, the members of this  dedicated group assume critical roles in advocating for and addressing the needs of their respective barangays in Tagbilaran City.

The oath-taking ceremony was witnessed by fellow Barangay Captains Jun Telmo of Booy, Luz Quiobe of Poblacion 1, Jimmy Lantape of Tiptip, and City DILG Officer Juliet Olalo.

Following the official proceedings, the Liga ng mga Barangay Officers held a brief meeting with Mayor Jane Yap to discuss various concerns affecting the barangays.

The officials also presented proposed developments they aim to implement during their term.

Mayor Yap emphasized the significance of the collaborative approach between the city government and the barangays, stating, “Our barangays are the backbone of our city, and the Liga ng mga Barangay plays a crucial role in ensuring that the concerns and aspirations of our communities are heard and addressed. I am confident that the newly elected officers will contribute significantly to the progress and well-being of all Tagbilarannons.”

The oath-taking ceremony and subsequent meeting underscored the commitment to effective and community-centric governance in Tagbilaran City, highlighting the collaborative spirit between the city government and the barangays.

Tagbilaran City Government extends mobile services to barangay Mansasa

Two employees (one, writing notes on a document and the other, giving a sheet of paper to a lady client), are among the dedicated workers of the Tagbilaran City Government who extended assistance to the residents of Barangay Mansasa during the Mobile Services activity held on December 15, 2023.



In a proactive move to enhance accessibility to vital services, the City Government of Tagbilaran, under the leadership of Mayor Jane Yap, conducted Free Mobile Services in Barangay Mansasa on December 15, 2023.

Represented by Chief of Staff John Geesnell “Baba” Yap II, the city government deployed a dedicated team equipped with specialized vehicles to bring a range of essential services directly to the residents.

During the activity, chief of staff Baba Yap emphasized the city government’s commitment to bringing essential services directly to the people.

He stated, “Our goal is to make important services more accessible to our communities. The Free Mobile Services is a testament to our dedication to the well-being of our residents.”

The Mobile Services Team orchestrated a multi-faceted initiative, offering an array of services aimed at addressing various aspects of community well-being.

One of the primary highlights was the Mobile Health Clinic, where residents received comprehensive medical services including general consultations, ultrasound tests, cardiac panels, ECGs, blood typing, X-rays, and complete blood counts (CBC).

The Mobile Dental Bus was also doing on site services providing dental consultations and dental extractions to ensure good oral health.

The mobile services also included grooming and wellness which offered free haircut and half-body massage to promote overall well being.  

On the other hand, free legal services such as legal consultations and assistance in drafting and notarizing simple documents, were provided on site.

Local Civil Registrar services were also extended, allowing residents to avail themselves  of the opportunity to apply for delayed registrations of live births and migrant petitions for corrections of clerical errors in registry documents.

A mobile kitchen was also available to provide free snacks for all.  

The free mobile services program has garnered enthusiastic responses from barangay Cogon residents, who expressed their appreciation for bringing essential services directly to their doorsteps.

The initiative in Barangay Mansasa reflects Tagbilaran City’s commitment to proactive community engagement, ensuring the fact that the people’s needs are met effectively.

The mobile services program will continue its rounds, visiting different “purok” and barangays of Tagbilaran City, providing convenient access to various services to its residents.
