The entire Central Visayas region is placed under enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) according to an online news report.
The report was released on Thursday, June 18, 2020 but upon a check made by The Bohol Tribune early this morning, Friday, June 19, 2020, the report has been taken down.
National newspaper Philippine Star in its online edition posted on June 18, 2020 said the national government placed the entire region of Central Visayas under ECQ. This ECQ is the strictest level of community quarantine as cases of Covid infection continue to rise.
“We have observed increase of COVID cases in Central Visayas so we have decided to place the region under enhanced community quarantine,” Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said at a briefing on June 18, 2020.
The DoH said that it is monitoring the situation in the region.
In Bohol, there are 10 active cases of Covid infection as of Friday, June 19, 2020.
Earlier, the region is placed under general community quarantine (GCQ) except Cebu City, which is under ECQ and Talisay City under Modified ECQ.
