The Bohol Lady Lions Club and Bohol Island Lions Club will hold a free Diabetes Awareness Day on Monday, August 10, 2026, offering health screenings to residents at the Alturas Mall Activity Center in Tagbilaran City.

The half-day event opens at 9 a.m., coinciding with the mall’s regular operating hours.

Organizers said participants can avail themselves of free diabetes screening, uric acid testing and cholesterol testing.

Global Port Terminals Philippines is co-organizing the event as a major partner, providing support that organizers said would help expand the event’s reach and cover the cost of medical supplies for the screenings.

Both Lions clubs are members of Lions District 301-B2, the district covering Bohol and nearby areas, and have previously carried out health and community programs across the province.

Diabetes remains among the leading health concerns in the Philippines, with many residents unaware they have the condition, organizers said.

No appointment is required.

Organizers said the event is open to mall-goers and walk-in participants, and encouraged families, senior citizens and others to get tested.
