A sweeper flight with a still undetermined number of Overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) is slated to land at the Bohol Panglao International Airport anytime today, Tuesday, May 26.

Kevin Damalerio, the information cluster head at the Capitol relayed this information to the Bohol Tribune on mid Tuesday afternoon.

Damalerio said that the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) region 7 informed the Capitol about the sweeper flight at around 2 pm on Tuesday.

Moreover, Damalerio said that the exact number of OFWs can’t be determined as of posting time since the manifesto is still being finalized.

Furthermore, Damalerio bared that all of the OFWs arriving here via the sweeper flight are negative of infection as determined by the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test taken prior the flight to Bohol.

President Duterte earlier mandated the repatriation of OFWs back to their respective provinces.

As a result, around 24,000 OFWs are expected to return to their respective provinces starting May 25 to 27, 2020.

Damalerio said that a team in the Capitol is ready to impose the established protocols upon the arrival of the repatriated OFWs here.

The arrival of the OFWs is supported by the mayors in the province.
