At least 24 locally stranded individuals (LSI) focal persons have gotten “threats” from people who are desperate to return here to Bohol, according to the chief of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office.

Dr. Anthony Damalerio bared this in a radio interview over “Open Forum” on Wednesday, June 24, 2020.

Damalerio said that he himself received threats from people who are desperate to return to Bohol.

He revealed that some of the LSI focal persons in the local government units (LGU) expresssd intent to resign out of frustration and fear of their lives after getting threats.

The PDRMMO chief cited a case where an LSI threatened an LSI focal person. It was learned that the LSI threatened the LSi focal person for the delay in the former’s return to Bohol.

He said the LSI who threatened the LSI focal person is already in Bohol and is now undergoing quarantine.

Damalerio said that the camp of the LSI focal persons is mulling legal action against the LSI, once the latter comes out from quarantine.

BOTH WAYS

Damalerio said the LSI focal persons should express restraint and patience when dealing with LSIs.

He said while the LSIs should respect the LSI focal persons, the latter should also show diplomacy when dealing with the former.

Respect and undersranding, should work both ways, Damalerio said.

He said the LSI focal persons should have empathy and should understand where these LSIs are coming from and look af the situation from the LSIs’ shoes.
