Carmen police arrests a rape and robbery suspect following a hot pursuit operation,  police report says.

The same police report bares that the incident happened on Friday in barangay sitio Ka-init, Poblacion Norte, Carmen town.

Police report identified the suspect as a certain Ernesto Villablanca, 27, of Poblacion Norte, Carmen.

He is being accused of raping and robbing the victim “Gina” (not her real name).

The police report said that while the victim was on her way home, the suspect engaged with the victim and talked with the former. As the victim was about to move along towards her home, the suspect allegedly choked and dragged her to a vacant grassy lot. The suspect then reportedly sexually assaulted the victim.

After the alleged rape incident, the suspect then robbed the victim by taking the latter’s belongings including an automated teller machine card, bank book, cash amounting to P4,000, and a mobile phone, the report reveals.

Moreover, the suspect fled away taking with him the victim’s belongings.

The victim asked for police assistance and the Carmen police launched a hot pursuit operation that led to the arrest of the suspect.

The suspect is now under police custody as charges will be filed against him, reports say.
