Interior and Local Government Sec. Eduardo Año advices families to wear face masks and face shields even while inside their respective homes if the family members are unable to avoid getting close to each other.

He gave the advice on Monday, August 10, 2020 in an interview with GMA News’ Unang Hirit program.

The secretary of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) said that family members should “best try” social distancing at home as a means to avoid contracting the virus that causes the coronavirus disease (Covid).

Advisable din ‘yung face shield dyan,” Año said.

The DILG chief said that family members who go to public markets or to the office should be the ones who should practice social distancing inside their respective homes and wear face shields.

The advice coming from Año comes after Sec. Carlito Galvez Jr., chief implementor of the national Inter Agency Task Force (IATF) noted that workplaces in economic hubs and informal communities are the most critical areas for virus transmission.
