The Philippine Atmospheric and Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA)placed today, Tuesday afternoon, June 1, 2021, the province of Bohol under signal no. 1 due to the effects of typhoon Dante, according to the 2pm bulletin of the said agency.

The PAGASA also placed some areas in the Visayas under signal no. 1, which includes Aklan, Capiz, the northern and central portion of Iloilo, the northern portion of Negros Occidental and the northern and central portion of Cebu.

PAGASA said Bohol should expect light to moderate with at times heavy rains in the next 24 hours.

As this developed, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) issued an orange rainfall warning over Bohol.

It warned Bohol residents that heavy rainfall might cause flooding in low-lying areas and possible landslides in mountainous areas.

Based on the storm tracking of PAGASA, Dante is moving north to northwest ward towards the southern portion of Eastern Visayas.

The storm has a maximum sustained winds of 75 km/h near the center, gustiness up to 90 km/h, the PAGASA said.
