JACSHIC, Bohol Chapter celebrates 11th founding anniversary

The Rev. Fr. Jose Augusto C. Sison Holy Infant Community (JACSHIC), Bohol Chapter at Tinago, Dauis, Bohol celebrated its 11th founding anniversary on August 18, 2021 with Msgr. Jeffrey Malanog, JACSHIC Bohol Spiritual Director as celebrant during the Holy Mass.

In a separate news item published in this paper a few months ago, it was announced that the Tagbilaran Diocese has already endorsed and recognized JACSHIC. This community is a Catholic charismatic group renewal movement in the said diocese.

Tagbilaran bishop Alberto Uy, in a letter dated May 12, 2021, formally endorsed and recognized the group. The HIC becomes part of the worldwide Catholic charismatic renewal movement following the endorsement and recognition of the diocese of Tagbilaran.

ABOUT THE GROUP

In a telephone interview on May 15, 2021, Msgr. Malanog told The Bohol Tribune about the nature of the said Catholic charismatic group. He explained that as a baptized Catholic, one has many ways to express his/her spirituality, and one of the ways is through joining a Catholic charismatic group.

The community here in Bohol is an extension of the community that originated in Mindanao back in 1989 and spread to other places including Bohol. Msgr. Malanog also said that anyone who wishes to enhance his or her own spirituality is welcome to join the community.

In a separate interview, one of the JACSHIC leaders, Cylwin Bomediano bared that members of the community are so united that it is not difficult to instill the spirit of cooperaton, religiousity and trustworthiness among them.
