Atty. Deneb Daydora, a Magna Cum Laude graduate from the University of Bohol (UB) and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), is among the 761 Bar passers recognized by the Supreme Court of the Philippines as having earned an “exemplary” mark after obtaining a grade of not less than 85% and not more than 90% in the 2020-2021 Bar examinations, according to Associate Justice Marivic Leonen.
Dean Gregorio B. Austral, UB College of Law, revealed other new lawyers from UB as Atty. Marsha Boniel, Atty. Prima Sumodobila and Atty. Jean Tubac.
An average of 72.28 percent or 8,241 out of 11,402 examinees have successfully hurdled the Bar exams, which were given on Feb. 4 and 6, 2022 in 31 testing sites across the country.
For the first time, the Supreme Court shifted from the traditional handwritten exam in all its testing centers to a digitalized format using dedicated software.
Unlike in the previous Bar results, there was no announcement of the top 10 passers. The Supreme Court only recognized Bar examinees with “excellent performance,” having obtained grades higher than 90%, and those with “exemplary performance,” with an average of 85 to 90%.
Law schools were also ranked based on the percentage of passers and the number of xaminees with exemplary performance.
The oathtaking of the new lawyers is set for May 2, 2022, at the SM Mall arena.
