HELPING HAND. Elmer Francis “Jun” Pasion  (extreme right) hands a bottle of water to a child, as other children witness during the medical mission held on July 21, 2022 at the Tagbilaran airport sponsored by PH Care-Pamayanang Handa – a corporate social responsibility group – in cooperation with the Rotrary Club of Pasay Cyber City. The group is also associated with former Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) administrator Benjie Oliva.

A corporate social responsibility (CSR) group known as PH Cares-Pamayanang Handa backed a medical mission here in the province and an activity during the reenactment of the Sandugo at the old Tagbilaran airport by providing hygiene kits to Boholanos who have been impacted by typhoon Odette, according to a report.

The group sponsored the medical mission on July 23, 2022 as part of its outreach program to people in Bohol during the celebration of the Sandugo Festival, the same reports add.

Aside from PH Cares, there was also support coming from Rotary Club of Pasay Cyber City where about 250 hygiene kits were distributed during the activity of the CSR group during Bohol Day.

The CSR group, PH Cares-Pamayanang Handa, is the one handling social outreach activities of consultancy and research firms by organizing charity events such as medical missions.

The organization partners with public and private entities for funding with the aim of helping vulnerable sectors of society, according to Elmer Francis “Jun” Pasion Jr., the chairman of PH Cares: Pasion heads the CSR group PH Cares with his wife Peaches as the group’s president and they led the medical mission activity held in line with the Sandugo Festival.

Jun Pasion revealed some facets of his CSR group and the Rotary Club plus the consultancy firm during their guesting session over Open Forum radio program on July 21, 2022, hosted by Gloria Leodivica Araneta and Atty. Greg Austral.

The CSR group visited the province in order to bring needed supplies to those who were impacted by the typhoon, Jun Pasion told The Bohol Tribune.

Jun Pasion is a close associate of former Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) chairman Benjie Oliva who is a native of Catigbian town.

Likewise, Jun Pasion is also one of the partners of the consultancy company called Pasion, David, Oliva, Durias and Associates and the Institute of Budget, Government Studies, Inc., which is a research firm. Oliva is also associated with these firms together with Jun Pasion and other partners.

As such, PH Cares acts as the entity handling the CSR aspect of the consultancy and research firms, which is no stranger when it comes to helping Boholanos.

In the past, through Oliva, PH Cares looked for funding to provide supplies given to students in Catigbian town, Jun Pasion mentioned in the radio interview. He said PH Cares was able to tap the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) and the Rotary Club as partners in bringing supplies for the Catigbian students.

SERVICE ENDEAVOR Jun Pasion and Oliva are part of a consultancy firm and a research company designed to help people’s organizations or cooperatives or local government units (LGU) to gain access to funding from the national government.

The firms provide these organizations including some LGUs the guidance to improve their chances of getting funding from the national government.

The firms reach out to these organizations and provide expertise for them to be able to easily tap resources that can be used in various projects or programs.

Oliva also paid tribute to Jagna mayor Joseph Rañola for teaching the former the intricacies of the national budget and in turn find the keys in obtaining the needed funding for these organizations.

The goal of their service enterprises is to empower these organizations so they can bring meaningful change to their constituents or to the people they serve, Oliva said in a separate interview on Newsmakers Ug Uban Pa hosted by Ardy Araneta-Batoy and Dave Albarado on July 21, 2022.

HELPING THE ORGANIZATIONS, COOPERATIVES Just recently, Cong. Edgar Chatto of the first district met with Oliva and Jun Pasion as the solon asked the duo to extend assistance to organizations and cooperatives in Bohol.

The goal is to provide the needed guidance in the steps to take in order to efficiently tap available resources coming from national government agencies.

“Gi-tap ta ni Cong. Edgar Chatto para tabangan ang atong mga people’s organizations ug mga cooperatives nga maka-access sa mga programs and projects sa atoang national government,” Oliva said.
