Balilihan is celebrating its 194th year foundation anniversary on Sept. 29, 2022 and its local government unit (LGU) released information regarding the activities related to the celebration of SUMAD 2022.

On that day, the town will have a Pista sa Nayon where food will be served, according to Vice Mayor Trisha Chatto.

Moreover, Balilihan will also stage on the said date an awarding event for achievers who are residents of Balillihan and those achievers who have links with the town. 

Vice Mayor Chatto said that Sept. 29, 2022 is a special non-working holiday in Balilihan only.

Under Republic Act 9706, Sept. 29, 2022 is declared a special non-working holiday in the town of Balilihan to celebrate SUMAD.

Before the celebration of SUMAD itself, there are other activities lined up related to the event. 

On Sunday, Sept. 25, 2022, the Painit Festival and Food Bazaar will open its gates at 4 pm and venue will be behind the Municipal Hall. The said food bazaar will run until Sept. 28, 2022.

At least 23 food exhibitors and vendors have already signified to sell their items in the said food bazaar.

On Sept. 27, 2022, there will be a Larong Pinoy event showcasing native games.

The day before the SUMAD celebration itself, on Sept. 28, 2022, there are several activities lined up such as Agro-Trade Fair 2022, Search for the Festival Queen, the Painit Festival Contest, and Liga Championship Games, among others.
