Benjie Oliva, president-elect of the Rotary Club of Pasay Cyber City and former Cooperative Development Authority administrator always visits Bohol together with his wife, Atty. Joan Jagunos Oliva, the past president of the said Rotary Club

Both are Boholanos but have established their residence in Manila. Both are widely known in the province as living examples of being philanthropists with their desire to promote the welfare of others as manifested by their generous donation of money and other materials in kind for good causes.

Upon hearing of the fire that happened in Tagbilaran City on Dec. 23, 2022, both husband and wife made sure that their help was felt by the victims as the couple donated a cash aid of P50,000 to the former.

The donation from Benjie and Atty. Joan was received on Dec. 28, 2022 by Kenny June Requeron, one of the fire victims who represented the members of the Seaside Neighborhood Association (SEANA) of Poblacion 2 in Tagbilaran City.

Moreover, according to Benjie Oliva, the Rotary Club of Pasay Cyber City has a commitment to provide a scholarship grant to a minor named Greaymar Manzano, a survivor whose parents were perished in the fire. Benjie Oliva said that the scholarship grant is valid until the child finishes college.

Furthermore, Benjie Oliva said that his group will be distributing free school supplies to the children who are victims of the conflagration. This will happen some time in January 2023. 

About 300 persons were affected by the fire that razed houses at Gallares street, Poblacion 2 in Tagbilaran City in the early morning of Dec. 23, 2022. Three persons were killed as a result of the fire that left not less than 75 families homeless.
