A March 2023 deadline was given to a contractor in order to complete the construction of the much-delayed Cong. Natalio Castillo Memorial Hospital (CNCMH) in Loon town.
The P90 million facility was planned to start operations by the end of the first quarter, according to Provincial Engineer Camilo Gasatan.
Reports say that Manila-based Medikotek, Inc. was given a deadline to complete the work that started post the 2013 earthquake.
Gasatan said the contractor provided an update of the status of the project. The contractor reportedly said that the hospital facility in Loon is about 80 to 90% complete.
The contractor was asked to submit a letter of commitment to complete the facility as soon as possible.
Based on reports, the hospital’s construction met delays due to the increase in the prices of materials. Additionally, the transport issues related to the delivery of materials also contributed to the said delay.
Making matters worse, the completion of the hospital was delayed by the lockdowns due to the Coronavirus disease and transport woes caused by typhoon Odette.
