Tagbilaran City Mayor Jane Yap received an award from the
Philippine National Police Region Office 7 (PRO7) during the
culmination program of the Police Community Relations month
celebration held on July 31, 2023 at the PRO7 Headquarters,
Camp Sergio Osmeña Sr., Cebu City.
The prestigious award was given to Mayor Yap for her
exceptional contributions to the success of the Tagbilaran City
Police Station and the Bohol Police Provincial Office, which
have greatly enhanced law enforcement and public safety
efforts.
The recognition was presented by Brigadier General Anthony
Aberin, Director of the Police Regional Office in Central Visayas
and Undersecretary Terence Calatrava from the Office of the
Presidential Assistant for the Visayas.
In response to the honor, Mayor Yap expressed her gratitude
and commitment to promoting a safe and secure environment
in Tagbilaran City. She stated, “This award is a powerful
reminder of the strong collaboration between the local
government and our dedicated police force. This recognition

further inspires us to continue working hand-in-hand for the
betterment of Tagbilaran City and the province of Bohol.”
In addition to Mayor Yap, Provincial Director Lorenzo Batuan of
the Bohol Police Provincial Office was also honored as the
Outstanding Police Provincial Office, while former Tagbilaran
City Chief of Police P/Lt. Col. Regie Real received the
Outstanding Junior Police Commissioned Officer award.
The police community relations month is celebrated every July
per Presidential Proclamation No. 764 signed on January 24,
2005, which aims to develop closer interaction between the
police and the community in the handling of peace and order
concerns.
