Congratulations,
Dr. Florence “Jun-jun” Gonzaga Cepedoza
and Cepedoza Family of Danao, Bohol!

Dr. Florence “Jun-jun” Gonzaga Cepedoza (on stage, 3 rd
from right), on the occasion of his induction as Fellow of
the Surgical Oncology Society of the Philippines on July 7,
2023.

He was born and raised in Danao, Bohol. His complete
name is Florence Gonzaga Cepedoza and he is the
youngest among 10 children. His mother and siblings call
him Junjun. They love him very dearly and they see him
as someone who is hardworking, generous, truly
dedicated to his profession, always passionate about
everything that he does, a go-getter, sweet, and very
thoughtful to all, especially to his mother. Flaviana
Gonzaga Cepedoza. He lost his father. Florentino Torrejos
Cepedoza, when Dr. Junjun was very, very young, but this
did not discourage him from giving his best in order to
fulfill his dream and the dream of his family – to become a
Doctor of Medicine.
Florentino, together with his wife, was landed; that was
why he took pride in his role as a farmer. He owned a rice
and corn mill, and did wonderful business by buying and
selling copra, rice, corn, etc. However, one day, he met a
vehicular accident that took his life. The tragedy forced his
wife, Flaviana, to take over the business for the sake of
her 10 children.
Dr. Jun-jun took up Medical Technology at Velez College
as his preparatory course for Medicine and finally
graduated from the Doctor of Medicine degree at the Cebu
Institute of Medicine in Cebu City. He took up his
residency training in General Surgery at the Governor
Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital and his
subspecialization in Surgical Oncology at the Vicente
Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City.
With persistence, patience and perseverance as his
guiding mantra in his studies and career, he succeeded in
all his training requirements. He also passed all series of
examinations these convinced his professors and medical
executives to confer upon him the following:

 Fellow, Philippine society of General Surgeons
 Fellow, Philippine College of Surgery
 Fellow, Philippine Society of Breast Surgeons
 Fellow, Society of Surgical Oncology of the
Philippines
 Fellow, Academy of Medicine of the Philippines
As a young student, then, he drew his strength from his
brilliant and doting mother who raised 10 children that are
now all professionals and successful in their respective
fields. Dr. Jun-jun also set in front of him the standards
and ideals of his siblings who never failed to support him
in all his endeavors.
Success runs in the Cepedoza blood. To prove my point,
