DAUIS, Bohol – A businessman was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Dauis town
last night, where over 1 million pesos worth of shabu and a firearm were seized.
The suspect was identified as Jemar Sumaylo, 36, married and a native of Sunto
Maasin, Zamboanga City who currently lives in Barangay Santa Cruz, Serra
Bullones town.
According to the police, Sumaylo was a high-value target who was involved in the
illegal drug trade in Bohol.
The police said that they conducted the operation after receiving information from an
informant that Sumaylo was selling shabu in Dauis. They posed as buyers and
arranged a meeting with the suspect.
During the transaction, the police arrested Sumaylo and recovered from his
possession 160 grams of shabu with a street value of 1,088,000 pesos. They also
found a .38 revolver with two live bullets in his house.
Sumaylo is now facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the
Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and Republic Act 10591 or the
Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
