The University of Philippines Society of Geodetic Engineering Majors (UPSGEM) on
Tuesday congratulated its alumna, Genny Marie Geñoso, for ranking second in the geodetic
engineer licensure examinations held last October.
Geñoso, a native of Barangay Cabawan in Maribojoc town, Bohol, got a score of 89.40
percent, just 0.20 percent behind the topnotcher, John Paul Santos of Mapua University.
She was among the 1,082 out of 2,054 examinees who passed the board exam, according
to the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).
UPSGEM, the official student organization of the UP Department of Geodetic Engineering,
posted a congratulatory message on its Facebook page, praising Geñoso for her
achievement and for bringing honor to the university.
“UPSGEM is proud of you, Genny! You have shown that hard work and dedication pay off.
You have also inspired many aspiring geodetic engineers to pursue their dreams. We wish
you all the best in your future endeavors,” the post read.
Geñoso graduated from UP Diliman in 2022 with a degree in Bachelor of Science in
Geodetic Engineering. She was a consistent honor student and an active member of various
academic and civic organizations.
She said that she was grateful for the support of her family, friends, professors, and mentors
who helped her prepare for the board exam.
“I am very happy and thankful for this blessing. It was not an easy journey, but I did not give
up. I also want to thank God for giving me the strength and wisdom to overcome the
challenges. This is not only my achievement, but also the achievement of everyone who
supported me along the way,” she said.

Geñoso said that she plans to pursue further studies and research in the field of geodetic
engineering, which deals with the measurement and representation of the earth and its
gravitational field.
She also hopes to contribute to the development of the country and the welfare of the people
through her profession.
“I believe that geodetic engineering is a vital discipline that can help address various issues
such as land management, disaster risk reduction, climate change, and urban planning. I
want to use my skills and knowledge to serve the public and make a positive difference in
the society,” she said.
