An extension office of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) will open by the fourth quarter of this year.

This was the update by LTO Region 7 Director Glenn Galorio to Cong. Edgar Chatto.

The first district solon bared this during last Friday’s Kita ug Atong Kongresista.

Chatto made follow through for its implementation, coordinating with the regional office of LTO.

This is a welcome development in the strategic provision of LTO services in the province, he added.

The establishment of the extension office was enacted into law through Republic Act 11276 in 2019.

At present, LTO holds offices in Tagbilaran City, as well as at Alturas Mall and Island City Mall, and in Talibon and Garcia Hernandez.

Not only will the Tubigon office decongest existing offices, it will also make LTO services accessible to the nearby cluster of municipalities.

In a related development, Chatto is also working on the establishment of a Bohol office of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).

He filed House Bill No. 9031 establishing the LTFRB-Bohol Provincial Office that has been approved by the Committees on Transportation and Appropriation, and ready for plenary deliberation through the Rules Committee.

The legislation will ensure ease of access, considering that those in need of LTFRB services at present have to go to Cebu.

It will also complement with the strategic positioning of offices of the LTO.
