Bohol Governor Erico Aristotle “Aris” Aumentado has seen a notable decline in satisfaction ratings amidst allegations of corruption, lack of direction, and poor leadership, according to the latest HNU-Bohol Poll conducted between March 2024-April 2024.

The survey, conducted between March 23 and April 22, 2024, shows that while 99% of Boholanos are aware of the governor, only 69% express satisfaction with his performance, resulting in a net satisfaction score of +61, or about 40% of those surveyed expressed dissatisfaction of Aumentado’s performance.

This marks a significant decrease from the previous year’s high of 78%, HNU said.

The data reveals disparities across districts and demographics.

In Tagbilaran, satisfaction is particularly low at +42, suggesting specific local issues may be influencing public opinion.

Conversely, District 2 shows a high satisfaction rate at +76, indicating a more favorable view of the governor’s policies.

Urban and rural areas report similar satisfaction levels, both at +57 and +63, respectively.

However, there is a gender gap, with males reporting a higher satisfaction rate (+64) compared to females (+59).

Young adults aged 18-24 show the highest approval with a net satisfaction score of +79, suggesting that the governor’s policies resonate well with the younger generation.

The least satisfied age group is those 45 and above, with a net score of +55, indicating potential discontent among older residents.

The poll also highlights economic class differences, with Class E showing the highest satisfaction at +65, while Class D is less satisfied at +59. This could reflect the varying impact of the governor’s policies on different socioeconomic groups.

The decline in Governor Aumentado’s satisfaction rating suggests that the administration may need to address specific concerns to regain public trust and improve its standing among the electorate, media reports said.
