Tagbilaran City has been honored with the prestigious Green Banner Award for the second consecutive year at the Grand Nutrition Award Ceremony.

This activity was organized by the National Nutrition Council Region 7 under the Department of Health and was held on August 9, 2024 in Cebu City.

This accolade highlights the city’s continuous dedication to improving public health and nutrition.

In addition to the Green Banner Award, Tagbilaran City received recognition for Good Nutrition Practice, specifically for its “Serbisyong from Womb to Tomb” program.

This comprehensive initiative delivers essential health and nutrition services across all life stages, reinforcing the city’s unwavering commitment to the well-being of its residents.

Dr. Jeia Pondoc, City Health Officer and concurrent City Nutrition Action Officer, accepted the award on behalf of City Nutrition Council Chair, City Mayor Jane Yap.

She was joined by Rey delos Santos, City Nutrition Program Coordinator, and Robin Reyes Culpa, Public Health Nurse Supervisor.

Expressing her gratitude, Mayor Jane Yap remarked, “This recognition is a testament to our relentless dedication to improving the health and nutrition of our community. The ‘Serbisyong from Womb to Tomb’ program is more than just an initiative; it is a promise of care for every Tagbilaranon, from the earliest stages of life to the very end. We will continue to strive for excellence in serving our people.”

Mayor Yap also took the opportunity to congratulate the team behind these achievements: “I want to extend my heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Jeia Pondoc, and all the dedicated individuals who have worked tirelessly to make this success possible. Your hard work and commitment are what drive our city forward. Let’s continue to build on this momentum and ensure that Tagbilaran remains a model of good health and nutrition practices for the entire region.”

The City Government of Tagbilaran continues to prioritize healthcare, as evidenced by the ongoing construction of the Super Mega Health Center and a state-of-the-art Dialysis Center.

These new facilities will significantly enhance the city’s ability to provide comprehensive healthcare services, ensuring that residents have access to top-quality care within their community.
