Former Bohol first district congressional candidate Atty. Jordan Pizarras has raised issues over alleged irregularities in the May 12 elections, citing potential discrepancies in vote returns.

In an interview Tuesday on Newsmakers ug Uban Pa with Ardy Araneta-Batoy over DYTR, Pizarras elaborated on his Facebook post titled “Magic in the City?”, where he questioned the integrity of the poll results.

Pizarras claimed that partial election returns from Dauis, presented to him by incumbent Mayor Roman Bullen, showed discrepancies that have yet to be explained by the Commission on Elections (Comelec).

He alleged that poll officials made corrections to the results after his legal team had left the canvassing site.

“I want an explanation for this disparity,” he said.

He also raised issues about the extended tenure of Provincial Election Supervisor Eliseo Labaria, questioning whether a prolonged stay in one assignment might lead to undue familiarity with local candidates.

According to Pizarras, he had sent a letter to the Comelec regarding these issues before the end of the campaign period.

Thanks Supporters, Denounces Vote-Buying

Pizarras expressed gratitude to his supporters and campaign volunteers, saying their efforts helped advance his advocacy to protect the interests of Boholanos.

Known to some as “Tigpanalipud” or “Protector,” Pizarras reiterated that he did not engage in vote-buying, saying that the support he received came from voters who genuinely believed in his platform and causes.

“There were people who urged me to buy votes in the final days before the election,” he said. “But I refused. It’s immoral. Voting should remain sacred.”

Advocacies to Continue

Despite his loss, Pizarras vowed to continue his advocacies for the people of Bohol.

“It would be a disservice to stop now just because the elections are over,” he said. “I intend to finish what I started and remain committed to protecting Boholanos.”
