PANGLAO, BOHOL — What used to be just a beachfront getaway is now a training ground for Bohol’s future hoteliers.

The University of Bohol has officially taken over the management and operations of the Bohol South Beach Hotel in Panglao, transforming the property into a full-fledged learning laboratory for its students.

To recall, the turnover and dedication ceremony was held on December 30, 2025, led by UB President Dr. Victoriano B. Tirol III and former proprietor Ms. Mercedes M. Kennedy. The resort is now managed by the University Hotel Service Corporation, a subsidiary of the University of Bohol.

More than just an acquisition, the move signals UB’s shift toward industry-immersive education. The hotel now serves as an expanded learning environment where Hospitality Management and Tourism Management students get hands-on, real-world experience — from front office operations and housekeeping to food and beverage management and resort administration.

In a province where tourism is a primary economic driver, the initiative positions UB students right at the center of the industry, even before graduation.

“This is how we future-proof our students,” the university said. “By learning inside a real hotel, run as a real business.”

Through this venture, the University of Bohol continues to bridge the gap between classroom and career, ensuring its graduates are not just degree holders, but industry-ready professionals.
