City Mayor John Geesnell Yap II has lauded the efforts of the City Accounting, Office, City Treasurer’s Office, City Budget Office and City Auditor’s Office as the City Government bagged the Department of the Interior and Local Government’s (DILG) Good Financial Housekeeping (GFH) award for 2021.
The DILG uses the following criteria to determine if a local government unit (LGU) is good enough to earn the GFH, and the criteria are as follows: most recent Commission on Audit (COA) Audit Opinion, and compliance with the Full Disclosure Policy (FDP) which involves the posting of financial documents in three (3) conspicuous places. This also includes the posting of the same information in the FDP portal for 2021.
The GFH is one of the minimum requirements to be considered as finalist for the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG), which is another award being given by the DILG.
It can be remembered that Tagbilaran City is ranked number 5 nationwide in
terms of collection efficiency as recognized by the Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF).
The BLGF’s citation is also another testament to the city’s sound fiscal management.
Furthermore, the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI)
also awarded Tagbilaran City the Most Business Friendly LGU – Category 3 in 2018 and 2020 and a Special Citation in 2021.
