Cong. Edgar Chatto emphasized that education remains
a top priority whether formal or technical vocational as
he congratulated graduates of higher education
institutions on his bi-monthly program Kita ug Atong
Kongresista that aired on Friday, June 30, 2023.
Chatto shared he graced invitations to speak at
graduations both for formal as well as for technical
vocational education.
He emphasized that graduation is only a step towards
more education whether in the practice of profession or
in the use of skills to engage in entrepreneurial activities.
The first district congressman also recognized graduates
and scholars of the Carlos P. Garcia scholarship
program, recalling the initiative that was institutionalized
back in 1996 when he has then vice governor with
former Governor Rene Relampagos.
He said support for education remains a priority
especially opening opportunities for the underprivileged.
Aside from the CPG scholarship program, Chatto
implemented a subsidy program when he was governor
and prior that that also authored the Expanded Special
Program for the Employment of Students (e-SPES) in
Congress.
At the graduation ceremony of graduates of the Bohol
Island State University (BISU), Chatto shared he met
with the mother of Physical Therapy Licensure Exam
topnotcher Edzelle Mhay Benitez Naquila from
Desamparados, Calape where he invited interest to
apply for medical program.
Chatto said the medical school program of BISU
supports those who wish to pursue medical education
under scholarship.
“Be the best worker or be the best entrepreneur,” Chatto
stated, encouraging graduates as they pursue their
respective fields of interest.
