Buenavista crafts separate annual investment plan for town and college
Buenavista Mayor Dave Duallo said the town is now creating its Annual Investment Plan or AIP.
He said the AIP for the local government unit is separate from the AIP of Buenavista Community College or BCC.
This separation is intended so that the needs of the college can be given priority.
Duallo said he wants to provide special attention to the college.
The AIP serves as a wish list of projects and plans for the town.
It is formed with the help of councilors, the local finance committee, and other agencies.
Duallo said the college offers courses in Information Technology, Criminology, Hospitality Management, and Tourism.
The college also holds a pre-employment seminar for graduating students.
It coordinates with the Public Employment and Placement Office and the alumni to monitor the professional progress of graduates.
He said education is a game changer and a solution to end poverty.
Duallo said the college produces students and graduates from Buenavista, and some come from Inabanga, Pitogo, CPG Garcia, Mabini, Guindulman, Carmen, and San Isidro, while others are from Cebu.
He said scholarship programs are offered to qualified students.
Because the local government unit runs the college, there are fees that are provided for free.
The BCC follows the standards in hiring professors and instructors as set by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).
The BCC president is Dr. Analiza Chua.
POLITICAL FUTURE
Duallo remained mum on his future in politics.
He is term limited and is no longer eligible to run for mayor in 2028.
US-based Boholano lawyer voices concern over new Middle East clashes
US-based Boholano lawyer Glen Hubahib expressed concern over the fresh clashes in the Middle East.
He said Filipinos working in those areas could be directly impacted by the escalation of the conflict.
The renewed hostilities come as both sides continue to launch attacks against each other.
Hubahib said these hostilities are likely to continue because each side is determined to assert its position and inflict damage on the other.
He added that the reported American casualties could further intensify the war.
The lawyer also warned that the conflict will have an impact on global fuel prices.
He pointed out that Iran’s closure of the Strait of Hormuz has raised fears of a fuel shortage, since about 20 percent of the world’s oil passes through that waterway.
OPA successfully hosts Sandugo Agri Fair
The Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA) has successfully hosted the Sandugo Agri Fair, according to Liza Quirog.
Quirog said the fair was held at Plaza Rizal with 20 towns participating, each showcasing their respective local produce.
She added that the event was supported by people’s organizations and national government agencies.
The fair ran from July 13 to 17 2026, she said, Quirog said, and the event also provided experiential learning for high school and college students, giving them hands-on experience in planting crops and crop processing.
She said a contest for the biggest ubi and other crops was also held during the fair.
Quirog expressed hope for a bountiful ubi harvest this year.
She said the government has an ubi buy back program where the ubi grown by farmers shall be bought back by government.

Quirog said the OPA has allocated funds to mitigate the effects of El Nino.
She said there are plans to conduct cloud seeding to address the dry spell.
A total of P9 million in funds will be used for cloud seeding.
She added that rains are expected to be less frequent by next month
Former envoy warns new Middle East conflict could affect Filipino workers
Former ambassador to Saudi Arabia Adnan Alonto expressed concern over a possible spark of a new war in the Middle East.
He told broadcaster Gloria Araneta in an interview that such a conflict may lead to the repatriation of Filipinos working in the area.
He cited the fact that a large number of Filipinos are working in the Gulf region and that authorities may need to bring the Filipinos home if hostilities escalate.
He said he is afraid that the spark of hostilities may again cause damage to the world economy.
Alonto added that Filipinos love to work in the Middle East, and any issues there can create problems that affect their employment.
He said this can also affect the local economy because remittances from overseas workers drive the economy.
He hopes that the nations that are at war will find peace soon and work towards bringing peaceful to the area.
He believes that peace can be achieved as long as the parties involved will work closely together.
He cited Lebanon as an example of a country reaching out to the US to find peace.
Sevilla says Duterte’s financial records should be opened
Bohol Tribune columnist Donald Sevilla said the financial documents of Vice President Sara Duterte should eventually be opened.
He said this after the prosecution panel asked for a subpoena duces tecum on the tax records of the Vice President.
Sevilla said the opening of the records is for transparency and accountability.
He said the trial is a numbers game and this may sway the outcome.
He also said the impeachment is part of a political exercise and there is a big impact if the records will be able to show whether the allegations are true or not.
The opening of documents may corroborate the allegations and the perceptions of the people.
He said the endorsement by Sen. Panfilo Lacson and Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano shows that the issue is bigger.
Youth group links gambling to violence
A youth group said the mindset of young people today is totally different.
Members of Kabataan for Change or KFC discussed how gambling addiction can drive a young person to kill a relative.
Present during the discussion were Carl Hinlo and Ivy Betalmos and Bjay Baquero of Kabataan for Chang or KFC.
Betalmos said it is not normal for young people to be involved in violence.
She added that it is not normal for young people to be involved in killing or to be capable of killing.
She said young people were raised to have fear of God.
Hinlo said what is happening is alarming, and that the apparent motive behind the incidents is gambling.
He said the addiction causes changes in the mindset of the youth.
Hinlo added that some people resort to crime in order to sustain the addiction.
Baquero expressed concern over the growing popularity of online gambling.
She said the youth are often influenced to gamble, and this can become a problem.
She said curiosity can lead to addiction and possibly more problems.
She said people should be aware of the consequences of such actions.
She said gambling is seen as a source of livelihood in the long term.
She added that gambling can affect mental health and everyday life.
Bohol PPO gets new PCADU chief and spokesperso
Police Major Joseph Lopena has been officially appointed as the new head of the Police Community Affairs Development Unit (PCADU) and spokesperson of the Bohol Police Provincial Office (BPPO) as part of the reorganization of the provincial police office.
Lopena replaced Police Lieutenant Colonel Joseph Berondo, who was appointed as Deputy Provincial Director for Operations (DPDO) under the leadership of Provincial Director Police Colonel Patricio Degay Jr.
Prior to his new assignment, Lopena was the assistant operations officer of BPPO and previously served as chief of various police stations in Bohol.
He was replaced in his former position by Police Captain Winston Magdadaro.
Lopena officially started in his new position on July 21, after the turnover of his previous assignment was completed.
Although his appointment was effective on July 15, he first finished his pending tasks before reporting to his new office.
As PCADU chief, Lopena will lead the BPPO’s programs for community relations and will also serve as the official spokesperson of the provincial police office in providing information to the public.
Ceres bus overturns in Talibon, several passengers injured
The driver of a Ceres passenger bus lost control while negotiating a curve on the road, causing it to overturn on the roadside where several passengers were injured.
According to the initial investigation and statements from passengers, the driver was driving fast and at high speed before the accident happened.
The incident happened in Purok 2, Barangay San Jose, municipality of Talibon, Bohol at around 5:45 in the morning on July 23, 2026.
The duty desk officer of the Talibon Police Station received a call from members of TARSIER-Talibon about the accident that occurred on the provincial road.
When police and responders arrived at the scene, they found the bus already overturned on the roadside.
The injured passengers who sustained minor injuries and bodily harm were immediately attended to and given first aid by TARSIER-Talibon before they were taken to Garcia Memorial Provincial Hospital for further treatment.
The Investigation Officer-in-Charge (IOC) is now continuing to gather more evidence regarding the allegation of overspeeding by the driver.
Skid marks were found on the road and damage was seen on the front part of the bus after it hit the guardrails.
The guardrails were also hit and damaged, including an abandoned mini-store on the roadside.
Meanwhile, the parents of one passenger and the other victims said they no longer intend to file criminal charges against the driver due to the minor injuries they sustained, but they will file civil claims for damages and expenses.
Because of this, the Talibon Police Station concluded the investigation as “without prejudice”—meaning criminal charges can still be filed if the driver fails to pay civil liabilities, while the angle of quasi-delict is also being considered.
Boholano seaman injured in drone and missile attack in Black Sea
A Boholano seaman was injured after the cargo ship he was on board was hit by drone and missile attacks by Russia in the Black Sea, near the Port of Pivdennyi in Odesa, Ukraine, on the afternoon of July 18, 2026.
John Ray Compoc, 32 years old, married, from the town of Valencia, Bohol, sustained wounds on his head and neck after being hit by shrapnel when a missile struck the MV Inase near the port.
In an exclusive interview with a media outlet, Compoc said that among the 22 crew members who are all Filipinos, he was the only one injured when the ship was bombed while sailing toward Amsterdam.
Compoc said that even though he was injured, he was still able to run to his fellow crew members, which is why he was given first aid by his crewmates before he was taken by the Ukrainian Navy to the hospital.
The Boholano seaman said he is now experiencing trauma and fear especially because this is the second time he has experienced this.
The first was when the cargo vessel MV Tutor, where he worked, was bombed by Houthi rebels in the Red Sea in June 2024.
However, Compoc said he was not hurt or injured during that time.
He added that the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) is already aware of his situation and he is just waiting to be discharged from the hospital and to return home to Bohol.
Suspect identified in Dauis attacks on Maxim rider and woman
The Dauis Municipal Police Station now has a suspect in connection with the series of assaults on a Maxim rider and a woman in separate incidents in the town of Dauis.
According to PCapt. Yolando Bagotchay, chief of Dauis PNP, they are already tracking a suspect believed to be responsible for the crimes.
Their investigation and operations are ongoing to arrest the suspect.
Meanwhile, the wife of the Maxim rider victim also issued a warning to all motorists and riders to be extra careful especially when passing through deserted roads.
According to her account, the incident happened on July 18, 2026, around 2:30 in the afternoon, in Barangay Songculan, Dauis.
After dropping off a passenger, her husband, a Maxim rider, was heading back to Tagbilaran when he noticed a man riding a white Smash motorcycle and wearing a black full-face helmet following him.
When her husband slowed down, he was suddenly hit by the man with a metal object.
The target of the attack was his face, but his full-face helmet visor took the hit.
His cellphone was also damaged and his hand was hit.
He tried to confront the suspect but the latter pulled out a knife, so he sped away to escape.
Capt. Bagotchay said a similar incident also happened to a woman who went to their office to file a blotter.
Elderly man found dead in Candijay, Bohol
The body of an elderly man was found lifeless in a creek in Purok 6, Barangay Lungsodaan, municipality of Candijay.
The lifting and recovery of the body was carried out by the Candijay Emergency Rescue Unit (CERU) together with members of the Philippine National Police (PNP).
Upon the request of the police, an on-site post-mortem examination was immediately conducted by the attending physician from the Candijay Community Hospital (CCH).
The examination revealed that the victim died 12 hours before he was found, and the primary cause of his death was drowning.
The name of the victim is being withheld for now by the authorities.
Guindulman woman injured in gambling dispute
The argument over money allegedly lost to gambling led to a 29-year-old woman being injured after she was allegedly hacked by her live-in partner with a bolo in Barangay Bayong, Guindulman, Bohol on July 20.
The suspect, “Lito,” 34 years old, a farmer and resident of Purok 2, Barangay Bayong, was arrested by Guindulman Police.
Based on the initial investigation, the couple had a quarrel after the suspect allegedly spent and lost their money to gambling.
Because of anger, the suspect allegedly attacked his live-in partner with a bolo.
The victim sustained a wound on her left hand after she allegedly blocked the attack.
The suspect was arrested for physical injuries and was taken to the Guindulman Rural Health Unit for a medical examination and alcohol breath test, where the result was positive for alcohol intoxication.
He was then brought to the Guindulman Police Station and remains in temporary custody while the appropriate criminal charges are being prepared against him.
The operation was conducted by the Guindulman Police Station under the Bohol Police Provincial Office (BPPO), led by Provincial Director PCol. Patricio Degay Jr.
Batuan police urge public not to spread unverified shooting threats online
The Batuan Municipal Police Station appealed to the public to avoid spreading unverified information on social media, especially those related to alleged shooting threats in schools, because this can cause panic in the community.
In their advisory, the police said that a forwarded chat is circulating on social media discussing threats to shoot schools, including schools in Batuan.
The Batuan PNP explained that instead of helping, sharing such messages without verifying them can only cause public panic.
Therefore, they urged residents to immediately coordinate similar information with authorities so it can be addressed and responded to through proper procedures.
The public was also reminded that there may be pranks or jokes that take advantage of people’s fear, so it is important to check the truth of information before sharing it.
Despite this, the Batuan PNP assured that they will remain vigilant and alert to ensure the safety of schools and the entire town.
The police also urged the public to immediately report any suspicious activity or information about those responsible for making and spreading the threats so they can be acted on and charged with the appropriate case.
The Batuan PNP called on all residents to cooperate in maintaining peace and order through responsible use of social media and by avoiding the spread of unconfirmed news.
Ancillary services push transmission rates up in July 2026 electric bills
Power consumers may see a slight increase in transmission rates reflected in their July 2026 electricity bills due to an increase in ancillary service (AS) rates.
Overall, the equivalent average transmission rate for the June 2026 billing period to be billed by distribution utilities and electric cooperatives this July increased by 0.77% to PhP1.4604/kWh, up from May’s PhP1.4492/kWh.
AS rates – pass-through costs for power supplied by power generators who are AS providers during supply-demand imbalance – increased by 10.18%, from PhP 0.7220/kWh in May to PhP0.7955/kWh in June.
NGCP emphasized that it does not earn from AS and does not benefit from any change in AS prices, as these are remitted directly to generation companies with bilateral contracts with NGCP, and to the Independent Electricity Market Operator of the Philippines (IEMOP) for AS sourced from the Reserve Market.
Meanwhile, NGCP’s transmission wheeling rate, or the fee for delivering power through the transmission grid decreased to PhP0.5058/kWh in June from PhP 0.5607/kWh in May.
NGCP reiterates that bulk of the overall transmission rate still comprises of charges for Ancillary Services.
“As the system operator, NGCP’s priority is to ensure the grid remains resilient during supply-demand imbalances. NGCP does not profit from AS charges, as these are remitted directly to the providers who help us maintain the continuous flow of electricity across the country,” NGCP said. ###
Sandugo sa Bohol Agri Fair posts record P2.8 million in sales
The Sandugo sa Bohol Agri Fair 2026 recorded about P2.8 million in sales during its five-day run from July 13 to 17, 2026, up from P2.2 million last year, provincial officials said.
The fair, organized by the provincial government through the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, was among the flagship events of this year’s Sandugo sa Bohol celebration.
Provincial Agriculturist Liza Quirog said 30 local government units took part this year, up from 27 in 2025, while private sector exhibitors grew from 19 to 23.
Exhibitors sold an average of 10 tons of agricultural products daily, she said.
Quirog also announced that Gov. Aris Aumentado allocated an additional P5 million for the province’s agricultural buy-back program, aimed at improving market access and income stability for farmers and fisherfolk.
Held under the theme “Panguma ug Pangisda Magpadayon, Bisan Pa sa Hagit sa Krisis ug Panahon,” the fair highlighted the resilience of Bohol’s agriculture sector amid economic and climate challenges.
Bohol is the country’s only UNESCO Global Geopark.
BFP Bohol lauds firefighter Torres for triathlon win
Bohol Provincial Fire Marshal FSupt. Raul Bustaliño led the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in commending and congratulating Fire Officer 2 Mary Grace Torres.
She won as champion in the women’s 34–39 age group at the 2026 Sun Life 5150 Bohol Triathlon held in Panglao, Bohol.
Bustaliño and the BFP Region 7 Office of the Provincial Fire Marshal-Bohol praised Torres for her dedication, discipline, perseverance and effort to excel in her field.
According to the BFP, Torres’ victory is an inspiration to her fellow firefighters.
It also shows the strength, determination and discipline expected from bureau personnel, not only in their public service but also in their activities outside of work.
Torres was also recognized by the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Tagbilaran City through Resolution No. 26-221, Series of 2026.
This was for her championship in the said triathlon in the women’s 34–39 age group.
Bustaliño and BFP Bohol expressed their pride in Torres’ achievement.
They said it brought honor to the bureau and to the entire province of Bohol.
Bohol expands P20 per kilo rice program for more Bol-anons
The Provincial Government of Bohol has expanded the P20 per kilo rice program so that more Bol-anons can benefit from affordable rice under the administration of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s program called “Benteng Bigas, Meron Na!”
The Expanded P20-a-Kilo Rice Program was launched during the celebration of the 172nd Bohol Day at the Bohol Cultural Center in Tagbilaran City, led by Gov. Aris Aumentado, yesterday, July 22.
Part of the ceremony was the signing of a memorandum of agreement between the provincial government and Food Terminal Inc. (FTI) to ensure the continuous supply of rice and compliance with government procurement procedures.
The expanded program supports the Rice for All Program of the Department of Agriculture and the national government’s effort to strengthen food security, lower the price of rice, and improve the livelihood of local farmers by ensuring a market for their harvests.
Bohol is one of the provinces included in the expansion of the P20 per kilo rice initiative, which was first targeted at qualified beneficiaries such as senior citizens, solo parents, persons with disabilities, 4Ps beneficiaries, farmers, fisherfolk, and minimum wage earners.
Cabinet Secretary Benhur Abalos witnessed the launch and MOA signing, and he also served as the guest speaker for the Bohol Day celebration.
The provincial government expects that the expansion of the program will provide greater access to affordable rice for qualified Bol-anons, while also helping the government’s efforts to strengthen food security and maintain more stable prices for basic commodities.
Batuan area still flooded
Parts of Barangay Poblacion Norte in the municipality of Batuan, Bohol have remained flooded since early dawn, July 24, 2026, and as of now the floodwaters have still not subsided.
The flooding was caused by the Habagat (Southwest Monsoon) which was intensified by Typhoon ‘Kiyapo’ (Noul).
It is expected to bring light to moderate and at times heavy rains across the entire province of Bohol, including Tagbilaran City.
According to the latest Heavy Rainfall Warning No. 2 from PAGASA, the province of Bohol is not under Yellow, Orange, or Red Rainfall Warning.
Despite this, residents are still being advised to be vigilant because rains will continue in the coming hours.
Residents are also being warned of possible dangers such as flooding in low-lying areas, landslides in mountainous and hazardous areas, as well as strong winds and rough sea conditions along coastal areas.
Despite the reported flooding in some areas, there is no class suspension declared at this time.
The head of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), Anthony Damalerio, also assured that they are continuing to conduct frequent and direct monitoring of the situation in Poblacion Norte and across the entire province.

Besas pushes strong policies to fast-track renewable energy investments in Bohol
Vice Governor Nicanor Besas called for strong and progressive legislation to ensure a safe and sustainable energy future for Bohol during the official opening of the Bohol Renewable Energy (RE) Summit 2026 at Island City Mall yesterday, Monday.
In front of government officials, energy experts, investors, and development partners, Besas said that strong policies and unity across all sectors are key to addressing policy gaps and attracting more investments in renewable energy.
He also explained that the creation of the Bohol Renewable Energy Board and the launch of the Bohol Renewable Energy Resource Map show that the province is ready to welcome clean and modern technology that will help strengthen energy security and lower electricity costs for Boholanos.
The two-day summit with the theme “Accelerating RE Development and Investment in Bohol” is part of the Sandugo celebration in Bohol and aims to attract more renewable energy investments to boost the province’s sustainable economy.
In a message from Governor Aris Aumentado delivered by Provincial Legal Officer Handel Lagunay, it was stated that Bohol is ready to welcome clean renewable energy investments.
Meanwhile, Department of Energy Assistant Secretary Agustus Cesar Navarro said that renewable energy is a key driver for economic development, energy security, and sustainable growth in the province.
Tutor urges Marcos Jr. to prioritize chocolate hills, disaster preparedness, and PRC renewal reforms in SONA
Bohol 3rd District Rep. Kristine Alexie Tutor urged President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to prioritize the strengthening of Chocolate Hills protection, disaster preparedness for local government units, and the easing of Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) ID renewal in his 2026 State of the Nation Address (SONA).
Tutor asked Malacañang to support the passage of House Bill No. 831 or the Chocolate Hills Geological Monument Act, which aims to strengthen the protection of the Chocolate Hills while also addressing issues on landowners, communities, livelihood, and responsible development within the protected area.
She also asked that funding for its implementation be included in the proposed 2027 national budget.
The congresswoman also pushed for the passage of House Bill No. 833 or the Disasters and Emergencies Management Act, and asked the President to certify it as urgent to strengthen the readiness and capacity of local government units to respond to disasters.
Tutor also supported House Bill No. 8876, which aims to extend the validity of the PRC ID from three years to five years to reduce the cost, transactions, and hassle for millions of licensed professionals.
According to Tutor, the three proposed bills aim to protect national treasures, strengthen disaster preparedness, and make government services easier for Filipinos.
She also expressed hope that these will be prioritized by the Marcos administration in the upcoming SONA.
Theft suspect arrested in Loboc hot pursuit after being identified on CCTV
A 48-year-old theft suspect was arrested in a hot pursuit operation after being identified through CCTV footage of the incident that happened in Purok 7, Barangay Poblacion Ondol, Loboc in the afternoon of July 16.
The incident was reported to the Loboc Police Station at 5 in the afternoon by Iviem Balbido, 22 years old, together with Barangay Kagawad Teresa Maquindang, who witnessed the incident.
The victim presented CCTV footage that recorded the theft that happened at 2:46 in the afternoon, where the suspect was positively identified as “Reynaldo”, 48 years old, unemployed and also a resident of Barangay Poblacion Ondol.
The operatives of the Loboc Police Station, namely Police Master Sergeant Alfred Sarigumba, Police Staff Sergeant John Clyde Valera, and Patrolman Joel Maquiling, immediately acted and conducted a hot pursuit operation.
The suspect was arrested at 5:10 in the afternoon in the same barangay.
He was informed of his constitutional rights and was brought to the Loboc Police Station for proper disposition and filing of the appropriate charges.
Bohol PPO seizes ₱4.16m in illegal drugs, 67 arrested in weeklong operations
67 individuals were arrested by police while more than ₱4.16 million worth of illegal drugs were seized in various operations across Bohol from July 13 to 19, 2026.
The Bohol Police Provincial Office (BPPO), under the leadership of Provincial Director PCol. Patricio Degay Jr., announced in their weekly accomplishment report that police conducted 14 anti-illegal drug operations that resulted in the arrest of 14 suspects and the seizure of 612.16 grams of illegal drugs estimated to be worth ₱4,162,688 based on the Standard Drug Price.
Police also arrested 14 wanted persons, including four Most Wanted Persons and 10 Other Wanted Persons, during 14 operations.
In the campaign against illegal gambling, 39 individuals were arrested in 16 operations, while ₱2,787 in bet money was confiscated and 16 cases were filed.
Meanwhile, police conducted 29 operations against loose firearms that resulted in the confiscation, voluntary surrender, or deposit of 26 firearms, even though no one was arrested in connection with these.
According to Provincial Director PCol. Degay, this is part of the continuing police campaign to strengthen peace and order and prevent illegal activities across the province.
Police urged the public to remain vigilant and immediately report any suspicious activities or illegal operations to authorities.
₱42k shabu seized, 21-year-old arrested in Baclayon
Police arrested a 21-year-old man and seized 6.28 grams of suspected shabu worth ₱42,704 in a buy-bust operation in Barangay San Isidro, Baclayon, Bohol on Tuesday morning, July 21, 2026.
Police identified the arrested person as “Timothy”, unemployed and a resident of West Poblacion, Albuquerque, Bohol, who was also identified as a newly recorded drug personality.
The operation was conducted by the Municipal Drug Enforcement Team of Baclayon Police Station under the leadership of Police Chief PCpt. Alfredo Liguayan Jr., and seized from the suspect were one sachet of suspected shabu weighing 0.84 grams, allegedly the subject of the drug sale, and seven more sachets weighing 5.44 grams allegedly for possession.
Also seized were marked money in the form of a ₱500 bill, a pack of cigarettes allegedly used as a container for the sachets, a cellphone, and a black Honda Click motorcycle.
The suspect is detained at Baclayon Police Station and will face charges for alleged violation of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The suspect was brought to Baclayon Rural Health Center for medical examination and was then returned to Baclayon Police Station for custody.
The seized evidence will be sent to the Bohol Provincial Forensic Unit at Camp Dagohoy, Tagbilaran City, for laboratory examination and custody.
16-year-old high school student found dead in Dimiao, Bohol
A 16-year-old high school student, known only as Joseph, was found dead in the family home in Barangay Tangohay, Dimiao on Friday, police said.
The Dimiao Police Station said the student’s family had searched for him after he went missing from their home.
His girlfriend joined the search and found him inside the bathroom, police said.

Unemployed man arrested in Ubay buy-bust; P50,000 in shabu seized
An unemployed man was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Purok 5, Barangay Tapon, Ubay, conducted by the Ubay Municipal Police Station’s Drug Enforcement Unit under PMaj. Neon Francis B. Alvarez, officer-in-charge, police said.
The suspect was identified as Jervin Suello y Enriquez, 38, single but in a live-in relationship, of Purok 1 in the same barangay.
Authorities seized suspected methamphetamine weighing an estimated 7.34 grams with a standard drug price of about P49,912, police said.
The inventory of seized items was witnessed by two barangay officials and local media representatives, authorities said.
The operation was coordinated with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and used an authority to operate, police said.
The suspect was detained at a police lock-up facility while charges are being prepared for filing with the prosecutor’s office.
Loay buy-bust nets suspect out on plea bargain in prior drug case
A man previously imprisoned on drug charges who was released under a plea bargaining agreement was arrested again in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Sagnap, Iloilo Friday night.
The suspect was identified as Kevin Tero, 24, single, of Purok 5, Barangay Bahi, Alburquerque town.
The Loay Drug Enforcement Unit conducted the anti-illegal drug operation, which led to Tero’s arrest, authorities said.
Agents bought a sachet of suspected methamphetamine worth ₱1,000 from Tero and recovered four more sachets of the suspected drug from his possession, police said.
The seized items weighed an estimated 3.21 grams with a standard drug price of ₱23,868, authorities said.
Charges are being prepared against the suspect.
Watchlisted drug suspect arrested in Tagbilaran buy-bust; over ₱31,000 worth of shabu seized
A watchlisted street-level individual (SLI) was arrested and 4.6 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated standard drug price (SDP) of ₱31,280 was seized during a buy-bust operation at 9:34 in the evening on July 16 in Purok 1, Barangay Manga, Tagbilaran City.
The operation was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Team (DET) of the Tagbilaran City Police Station led by Police Lieutenant Greg L. Reyes under the direct supervision of Police Lieutenant Colonel Joey Malarre Bicoy, chief of the station.
The arrested suspect is alias “Busaw”, 24 years old, unemployed and a resident of Barangay Cogon, Tagbilaran City.
Seized from him were one sachet of suspected shabu weighing 1.3 grams used as the buy-bust item, another sachet containing 3.3 grams of suspected shabu, one marked ₱500 buy-bust money, and a Samsung keypad cellphone.
The suspect was brought to the Tagbilaran City Police Station for booking and documentation.
The seized evidence will be sent to the PNP Bohol Forensic Unit for laboratory examination, while charges for violation of Republic Act No. 9165 are being prepared against him.

A newly identified drug pusher was arrested and 7.34 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated standard drug price (SDP) of ₱49,912 was seized during a buy-bust operation led by Police Major Neon Francis B. Alvarez, Officer-in-Charge of Ubay Police Station, together with station operatives on July 17 in Purok 5, Barangay Tapon, Ubay.
The arrested suspect is “Jervin”, 38 years old, unemployed and a resident of Barangay Tapon, who was identified by police as a newly listed street-level individual (SLI) involved in illegal drugs.
Seized from him were one sachet of suspected shabu weighing 2.05 grams used as the buy-bust item, three more sachets containing 5.29 grams of suspected shabu, one marked ₱500 buy-bust money, and one empty plastic sachet.
The suspect was brought to the Ubay Police Station for booking and medical examination.
The seized evidence will be sent to the Provincial Forensic Unit for laboratory examination, while charges for violation of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165 are being prepared against him.
HVI arrested in Dauis buy-bust; over half kilo of shabu worth ₱3.75m seized
A high-value individual (HVI) was arrested in an anti-illegal drug buy-bust operation conducted by police in Purok 7, Barangay San Isidro, Dauis, Bohol at 8:55 in the evening on Friday, July 17.
The suspect was identified as Jose Benan Del Rosario, 31 years old, unemployed, and a resident of Barangay Tabajan, Guindulman, Bohol, who is facing charges for violation of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The operation was led by the Provincial Intelligence Unit/Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PIU/PDEU) of the Bohol Police Provincial Office (BPPO) under PLt. Col. Joemar S. Pomarejos, with the buy-bust operation directly supervised by PLt. Dave H. Surio and PLt. Noubell L. Padernal, in coordination with the Dauis Municipal Police Station, under the command of Bohol Police Provincial Director PCol. Patricio Degay Jr.
Seized from the suspect were six large sachets and three medium sachets of suspected shabu with a gross weight of 551.1 grams and an estimated standard drug price of ₱3,747,480.
Also recovered were a cellphone, a pouch bag used as a container, ₱1,000 in marked money, 11 pieces of ₱1,000 boodle money, and a motorcycle allegedly used in the illegal transaction.
The seized evidence will be submitted to the Bohol Forensic Unit for laboratory examination and custody, while the suspect is temporarily detained at the Dauis Municipal Police Station (MPS) lock-up facility while charges for violation of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being prepared.
Top 6 most wanted in PRO-7 arrested in Guindulman for rape and RA 7610 case
The Top 6 Most Wanted Person at the regional level was arrested in a joint operation by the Guindulman Municipal Police Station and the RIU-7 Bohol Provincial Intelligence Team at 5 in the afternoon on July 16 in Barangay Sawang, Guindulman.
The arrested suspect is “Hector”, 37 years old, married, a carnival worker and a resident of Sitio Ponod, Purok 6, Barangay Sawang.
The operation was led by Police Captain Kentbel Ceasar Villegas Parcon, chief of the Guindulman Police Station.
The warrant of arrest against the suspect was served, which was issued by Executive Judge Samuel Amila Biliran of RTC Branch 50 in Loay on July 9, 2026, in connection with the cases of qualified rape of a minor and lascivious conduct under Section 5(b) of Republic Act 7610.
No bail was allowed for the case of qualified rape of a minor, while ₱200,000 bail was set by the court for the case of lascivious conduct.
The suspect is now in the custody of the Guindulman Municipal Police Station for proper court proceedings.
